Meet Aliza Prokop

Experienced Board Certified Counselor

With years of experience in the mental health field, Aliza Prokop brings a personalized approach to each client, tailoring techniques to best suit patients’ needs. Following in her father’s footsteps, Aliza attended Kent State University, earning a Master’s Degree in Community Counseling and is Board Certified by the National Board of Certified Counselors.

Supporting Emotional Wellness

As a certified Trauma Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Specialist, Aliza approaches each client with empathy and understanding to provide creative insight and understanding, providing a fresh perspective. Whether clients are dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship issues or other emotional challenges, Aliza strives to provide the guidance and support necessary to help navigate through difficult times and achieve greater emotional wellness.

Counseling in Various Settings and Specializing in Trauma Therapy

She has extensive experience and has provided counseling in a variety of environments to include:

  • Supervising 20-25 BHT (Behavioral Health Technicians)
  • Family Based Clinical Lead Therapist, working with families in crisis
  • Therapist in School Based Partial Hospitalization Program for at risk, traumatized youth
  • Clinical Lead Supervisor for Elementary School Therapeutic Program K-2.
  • Certified Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (TFCBT) – trained by Anthony Mannarino Ph.D. – Director of the Center for Traumatic Stress in Children and Adolescents at Allegheny General Hospital.
  • American Mental Health Counselor Association (AMHCA) Public Awareness Committee Member – participating in meetings with other members across the United States to raise awareness of Mental Health Counseling for the public and also for other Mental Health Professionals to be supported via joining the AMHCA.
